Just about to turn off Weatherstem. Fahrenheit, time zones etc etc. It just frustrates me. My biggest issue with the site tho. The extremely slow loading times of the time lapses. I've tried iphone, iPad and MacBook. All the same. Wifi and cellular. A mate uses an android and seems to have no trouble. I don't even look at my videos because they take too long to load. Is this just me??? topher2880

This has to do with the Internet. It is screaming fast on the east coast and slower on the west coast of the US.
I've reported this to WeatherSTEM and they will look at it.
One thing they could do is reduce the resolution of the time lapses to increase the download speed. What do you think of that? I'll pass along comments.
Regarding the phone downloads, are they on the same cellular net work? Were the connected to the same WiFi? Was Japan watching too much Netflix?
Lots of different variables.

Just about to turn off Weatherstem. Fahrenheit, time zones etc etc. It just frustrates me. My biggest issue with the site tho. The extremely slow loading times of the time lapses. I would agree with this. Even in a browser on a PC, if you go to look at a video, it is very slow to generate / stitch it all together. Most noticeable as well if you are not sending a lot of pictures. I only send pics every 10 mins - which results in a video of around 3 seconds. But the interface thinks its 7 seconds... Eventually after a few seconds, it goes to play the video - but the slider does not associate properly with the full width, making it impossible to replay the video or even pause it and jump frame by frame. I think the setup is really designed for more pictures, the expectation of receiving maybe double what I am sending or more - that would make a 7 second video and probably resolve the slider issue and maybe even the performance. Like you guys, I have been giving thought on what else to do... and I am thinking of just sending my pictures to the cloud - Have heaps of space on onedrive, and there are many python examples to place pictures on onedrive... So having a shared public folder there might be a good idea, and I just have a batch that stitches them together for the video when needed... At least I can fix the timezone issues, and have a video start and end at the appropriate times instead of lunchtime. At least its free, and might work out far better... hmmm.... thoughts going on here...

I have been playing around with a timelapse script. Have it happily taking photos and storing them in separate folders per day. I can ffmpeg them together without issue, and then a simple delete of the *.jpg
Issue, is that it wont run the video generation automatically, I have to manually do it, which is annoying.. but more annoying is the time I can spend on it, not that much per day.
Id like to be able to export a snapshot, to a website (easy enough) and then tweet a daily mpeg as well as have those stored for future stitching or whatever, and then blow away the jpg.

We have video streaming working in the lab, but it won't make it into the software for a while because we have to build the cloud infrastructure to support it.
