Hello all. Talked to John a couple of hours ago about having all my sensors outside on rooftop since our condo does not allow wires outside. Just to clarify I can put the air quality, sun, thunderboard closed 2 floors up and still communicate? The pie will be outside too. What kind of wiring mod do I need?
Thanks

Hi Peter,
The WXLink LORA Solar supports only the WeatherRack and temperature. The Air Quality, sun and thunderboard are still connected to the SkyWeather main unit.

Would there be an.. uhhh.. easy.. way of rewriting some of that arduino code to allow AIQ and solar data to be on the TX side?

Since there are 2 floors to send data, I guess this means that the pi needs to stay next to computer? Also means I cannot use the extra sensors? Sun, thunderboard, air quality and camera. Where I live they dont allow wires on the outside of building. May have to settle what I can use.
thanks

Topher:
Adding the sun brightness data would be easy and is on the list. Adding the AQI would triple the power load on solar system so we have to take look at the whole design. At least, we would have to add a Grove PowerSave to the system (and rewrite the protocol on both ends - or get clever with the brightness and AQI and combine them in one floating point - which could be done).
Whoopus:
What computer are you talking about? Can you mount the Pi (in a weatherproof box) on your balcony so the camera gets a good view? Lightning will work either inside or outside, but the AQI needs to be outside. The rest of the instruments will work fine up on the roof.

Yeah looking at mounting on balcony in a separate weatherproof box. Already have a power save. Need another. And yeas I realize that I can seperate the lighting module. However if "Everything" is boxed outside, It should not changr much.... Thanks
