I first want to thank the Swithdocs team for there great CUSTOMER SERVICE. Excellent team.
My unit is up and running!
I had no problems putting my unit together, but I was hunted from the start on how to put it on a pole. It is a bit like putting a square block in a round hole.
Here is the answer. Muffler clamps! Most auto stores have them for about $3.40. Use 12” of angle iron (I used aluminum) and bolt it to a piece of plywood (the base). Secure the angle iron to the shelf with nuts and bolts. Drill two holes in the 90 degree pice of angle iron and secure with muffler clamps you could use U bolts but muffler clams fasten better to a pole. Look at my pics.
I am the guy who keep posting my temp at 32 degrees and my AM2315 Not Present. BP said wire problem. I even replaced my sensor with a new one. I found out how to fix it.
I purchased my unit on kickstarter and I made sure I got the SD card already loaded; however, I had been fighting this issue for weeks. I
decided to down load and start from scratch. I put everything on usb thumb drive. Rebooted my pie put the thumb drive into the pie and
went to files and renamed SkyWeather to SkyWeater.org (my old system is now back up if things go sideways). Loaded to SkyWeather and rebooter.
Opened up text editor and pulled up config and added my old information. I then left everything false except AM2315. I changed it to true.
Rebooted. Ran sudo python testAM2315 and it reported . Ran sudo python SkyWeather. py snd it reported AM2315 Present.
One important thing to remember, early in the set up and testing it gives instructions on running SkyWeather in the background. I never turned this off so when I keep asking the system for AM2315 it keep telling me it is already running. This makes it difficult to troubleshoot. My bad.
