Hi! My rain bucket is not working. Any hints on troubleshooting? Can I order a new one to replace it?

Well, first of all, does it click? How do you know it is not working? Can be tricky you know!
Take a multi-meter and connect to the two lines coming from the rain bucket. Set it on ohms. Tilt the bucket and see the ohms change from infinite to something like zero.

Doesn't work because when I put water in it nothing registers. And after several hard rains no readings of total rain. Will try the ohmeter test.

Are you using an OurWeather system? If so, does the anemometer work? Many people plug the RJ11 cables in the wrong side.
Are the lights flashing on the board when you turn the anemometer? Is an LED flashing when you tilt the rain bucket?

I have the same problem. Did you resolve it?
I've confirmed the anemometer works fine.
When it's clicking I can see the LED on the board that relates to the rain bucket flash. I just get no reading I've taken a short video. this is after tipping the rain bucket for some time to see if it would get a reading

Rain bucket is working. I can see that on the lights. What version of software are you running? This must be a software problem. I can easily test it later today. You might try running this software also. You can test it with this. Might have to tweak it a bit to run it on the ESP32. github.com/switchdoclabs/SDL_Weather_80422BP

I'm running the version it was released on I've seen there's been a new version but I can't update until I find out how to factory reset as I've lost the admin password.

Howard,
There is another way to reset the board for such a problem. With the power off connect a jumper from D25 (Presented as Pin 1 on the J15 Grove Connector) to a Ground wire (Pin 4 of the same connector). On the J15 connector, Pin 1 is the one inside the board and Pin 4(Ground) is on the outside of the board.
Turn your power on the board and remove the jumper when you see "Try ing WIFI AP" your preferences are completely gone.
By the way in Grove cable, yellow is pin 1 and black is pin 4.

The reset worked and I upgraded. The rain gauge is working now.
Thanks

Hey Doc, I still haven't got my rain bucket working. I dismounted it and took it apart. There is no visible connection between the see saw that spills the water and the inside circuit board. But it possibly works via a magnet moving past the sensor? Put an ohm meter on the leads and when i flip the seesaw i get a reading between 6 and 15 (Mohm?). Reading is zero otherwise. My anemometer has been working fine. Should I wire it back up and check the board lights as the next step? Thanks.

Yes. Change your Voltmeter to Volts and look at the line that way. It should change from ~5V to Ground.

Doc, I've got the board out and the rain gauge attached. I get the rain LED on when I swing the seesaw. But Swinging it repeatedly still registers no rain total. Should I do the same fix that Howard did? Will I have to a complete new reinstall? I still have the admin password. But the admin password doesn't seem to to be working. If I don't hear from you I'll do the reset that Howard did.

I've tried the Howard reset and it doesn't seem to be working. There is no J15 Grove connector on my board. I tried it on J4 and J6. It is hard to make sure I have shorted the pin 1 and 4 out. Dont have a spare connector, but I've tried several times after verifying Pin 1 to 4 has 3 volts. Again, even though I know my admin password, it doesn't seem to actually work anymore. Please advise.

Berne,
Where are you getting the J15 connector information? I'm confused. What version of OurWeather are you running? Can you post a picture of the board.
Happy to help, but I am lost.
