Hate to be the person that bugs, but since there is a new forum, I thought I would ask where the Lightning Detector support for the OurWeather product stood?
Thanks

Still scheduled for the OurWeather Next Software Update, starting on June 19th (if the current schedule holds - since it is dependent on vacations ending on the 18th, it looks pretty good.....)

BP Ok, sounds great. So if I order the board, what else will I need to connect it to the OurWeather board? Thanks Scott

Scott,
Right now, this is what is planned, but not guaranteed. The question is do we require using the only GPIO available on the WeatherPlus board to serve as an interrupt for the Lightning Detector. Traditionally, this is what has been done. We are faced with three questions that we will be answering over the course of the next three weeks.
1) Do we use the GPIO as an Interrupt Line for the Lightning Detector? Not the greatest on the WeatherPlus board. 3.3V only and only one left.
2) Alternatively, we could use an I2C 8 GPIO pin expander to fix this. That is a possibility.
3)We could NOT use the Interrupt and convert the software to a poll based system, say every 30 seconds or so. This means we may be off on the count of the lightning bolts, but we will always know that one or more has happened in the past interval. John is saying there might be a way around this.
So, what do you need for sure at this point?
50cm Grove Cables (to get the detector away from the processors) MOD-1016G Lightning Detector I2C Hub (depending on if yours if full or not).
and maybe after we are done
I2C 8 GPIO Expander

Thanks for the reply. Will see how the month plays outs, and the software update. I should room in the I2C hub. I think there is at least one empty connector, may be two. I would order the 3D printed tower for the MOD-1016G Lightning Detector.
