Hi all,
After a long search for specially lightning projects, I have been on hold for the projects at blitzotung a long time. Finally fed up with it, I started searching again and found switchdoc! And what a find that was! After a lot of checking, asking, double checking, and more asking (sorry guys, I must have driven you mad) I decided on a Solar powered Grove Weather Pi.
I''ll be posting my progress in this thread. For now, I ordered the kit and am anxiously waiting for it. In the mean time I do have the Raspberry Pi Zero W
And the extra parts 3D printed.
To be coninued
Best regards, Peter

You rock Peter! Cindy told me it looked like your kit had disappeared from the post office. I was glad to hear that it was found for you.

You rock Peter! Cindy told me it looked like your kit had disappeared from the post office. I was glad to hear that it was found for you. BP In the end just one big misunderstanding! Everything turned out fine! I have started putting things together. Dropped some questions again I learned the hard way not to assume things when putting electronic parts together Here are some more fotos. First the, so far, assembled basic weaterstation: The solar kit,but still very basic. Only one panel and no battery yet. If you look closely, you can already see the charging light burn green Now I have an idea on the required size for the water tight casing, Gonna look for one with a transparent cover so I can show-off the inside To Be Continued Best regards, Peter

Peter,
Post a link to that box. It's looks really good. We are building a weather station with the BC24, so we really need a transparent top.

OK, Spanish holliday is over. Required micro-sd cards were in the mail. So we continue... On the ssh side... But then... Things did not go as described. For some reason I was unable to import the mysql file. Errors in syntax in the file. Weird...

Found and followed the Instructables tutorial, which seems to do the trick. Although some install instructions have to be done in different order as described. But slowely, surely I am getting there

The main GroveWeatherPi stuff is now securely velcroed in place The environment shield and lighting tower loosely in place where they need to come. Now finding some usb cabling to place the solar power board and power controller somehwere. Not forgetting the battery. The software is acting up, but physically the project is moving forward!
Environmental shield"
Lighting tower:
The inside of the box. I'll velcro the oled display to the tranparent cover for great view
