I'm seeing 18 hours of continuous success on v 16. I've gone through multiple watering triggers and the script is still humming along. Nice work SDL! I'll continue to let this run and report back if anything pops up.
thanks again,

Romain - Have you tried any of the buttons - rotary or pushbutton yet? I got locked up as soon as I tried to set the moisture threshold...

I've been going through moisture sensors on my Smart Plant Pi project, and want to attempt fixing one of the many I have used up. Is there a way to obtain a schematic of the sensor?

After uploading the latest version (15) of SmartPlantPi.py I am getting an error when I press the rotary select button. The dashboard gets stuck on 'Rotary Select', and the OLED locks again. The script continues to 'tick', but won't accept any other button pushes, etc. The script eventually crashes, with this output: checkandWater: 65.00 Threshold / 59.23 Current Watering Plant Tick! I've git cloned the repo and turned off debug, but I'm not getting anything on Freeboard.io. Do I need a new dashboard.json file? If so what version?

I have the same situation. TestAll.py returns a non-zero value, but SmartPlantPi.py always returns a zero.
Thanks for the awesome support guys.

Yep. I have the same issue as Romain. The OLED freezes, though the actual SmartPlantPi.py script continues to run. I have a similar output as well. Freeboard stops being updated, continually displaying 'Sampling', with no other updates being pushed to it.

I've had the same problem. It's hard to exactly reproduce, but it seems that if it triggers a watering more than once in a row it freezes the script. My dashboard gets stuck reading "Sampling" and hangs. it completely drains the water container, watering every 15 minutes until empty. Doug

Any chance you've had an opportunity to check out this error?

Yeah, Sorry about the sensor thing. I wish I had found the test script before wasting your time with a replacement. My bad.
