Wondering about the size of the 3d printed parts. What size 3d printer is needed?

Widest piece is about 150mm, so it is pretty easy to print.

A bed of 200 mm x 200 mm is sufficient for all of the parts.

The only part I struggled with was the one for the external thermometer.... It was too large on my Up2 printer - it having a bed size of 140mm x 140mm. All the other parts I could print easily

Do you have a 3D Hubs printer close by you could send the file to? That could be an option.

Let us know what 3D printer you get. We are thinking we might get a new one here at SDL. Our Makerbot is 3 years old and getting long of tooth. Want ABS too. However, look what we just printed for our next Kickstarter! 12 hours! BP

Yes, very soon. Just building a second one for Marketing right now. This is the funniest thing we have ever built. John is very corny sometimes! BP

Just a quick question as to durability of 3d prints in contact with direct sunlight, rain, etc. Do you suggest any special material for printing?

Use ABS. It has better characteristics for outside use.
Also, use white.
