So, everything seems to be working fine except for the anemometer. Just about every day, SkyWeather reports wind gusts in excess of 300 mph.
I added a line of code that causes it to just not report gust in excess of wind speed x 10. But even then, I see 50 - 60 mph gusts of relatively mild days. Funny thing is, the wind speeds are completely rational. It's only the gusts that are messing up.
Any idea what might be going on here?

Hi Mike,
I thought you were going to tell me you lived in the Bahamas.
Yes, there is an intermittent problem with that code. Has to do with the way interrupts are handled on the Raspberry Pi. It's the "jitter" of a multi-tasking operating system.
It is on our list to look and fix. Definitely!

Is there an easy way to comment out the reporting of gusts? Its not a huge issue for me, but it would make WU a little better looking in the graphs without the 400 kmh gusts.

Yes,
Here is what you do in WeatherUnderground.py:
Change
myURL += "&windspeedmph=%0.2f" % (currentWindSpeed/1.6) myURL += "&windgustmph=%0.2f" % (currentWindGust/1.6)
To
myURL += "&windspeedmph=%0.2f" % (currentWindSpeed/1.6) currentWindGust = 0.0 myURL += "&windgustmph=%0.2f" % (currentWindGust/1.6)

Well came here looking for exactly this solution. I thought my avocados were going to blow all the way to Spokane with the wind gusts. Jitter resolution on my todo list as well (affects my flow meter too :-)) Thank you!

Any update on when this might be fixed? I would love to have wind gust data. But I can't share it if I have to explain to people that they need to ignore the 60 MPH - 360 MPH wind gust reports.

Mike,
No schedule on the fix beyond the above kludge to zero.
We will look at it later in the week and see what can be done in SkyWeather.
