hey guys,
during the summer i am using a 5.6v 10w zwener diode wih my voltaic 9w solar panel hooked up to a 20,000 mah lipo battery. It worked fine all summer, In the winter i dont get enough sun so i ran conduit and ran 5v via cat-5 to power to the weather station. "4 wires ares positive the other 4 are negative". i adjusted the potentiometer until the station stopped drawing from the battery during use. The other day i checked and i wasnt getting 5v out from the sun control board. Is there something i am doing wrong ? or does any one have an suggestions?
THanks,
Lannie

Lannie,
What connector did you run your cat-5 cable into the board? What was the voltage on the SunControl board when "i adjusted the potentiometer until the station stopped drawing from the battery during use"?
How was this potentiometer hooked up and what was the potentiometer values?
Need a little more information!

I purchased a 5v power supply from amazon that has a potentiometer with 3 positive and 3 negative outputs. I used a usb cable i had and cut the end off and connected the cat-5 wires to the appropriate wires on the usb cable. I used all 8 because it was kind of a long run and I was worried about voltage drop and decided to check the end of the usb cable for 5 volts once everything was hooked up. I was getting 5.1 volts at the usb cable before plugging it into the sun control board. Once everything was running I used the potentiometer on the power supply to adjust to the voltage so that Blynk showed there was no voltage being drawn from the battery.

Here is an example of what I am getting from blynk currently.

5.25 Volts Max! Anything higher can damage the SunControl Board.
