Hello, Pardon my ignorance in advance, but I am researching external watchdogs for our product line and it seems this is the best choice. However, I have a few questions which I was hoping you could answer/confirm before we purchase these units. I'll try to be as brief as possible, and apologies if they have already been asked. - Is this compatible with the Raspberry Pi 4 as well as Pi 3+?
- I read about it being used to reset the Pi. Sometimes a reset is not good enough. Can it also power cycle the Pi to force a reboot?
- Can this be mounted on top of the Pi's pins directly, or is wiring/soldering involved?
- Is there a case of some sort available for this unit, if it's not mounted on top of the Pi?
- Will this draw power from the Pi, or does it require its own external power source?
- Why are there two timers?
Many thanks in advance for your time.

Adam,
You can use a USB PowerControl and the WatchDog Timer board to force a power off / reboot.
With the above, no soldering, just jumper wires.
Good point. You will need to provide power, not from the pi.
Two timers because they fit on the board and can be strung together for some applications.

Hello adamreisnz, I am new to the filed, would you mind sharing your wire connection to pi4? Thanks a lot! Dylan

Look up the J2 pin header on the Raspberry Pi 4.
GLOBAL_EN is the right input to switch off power in correct seq (not to shutdown OS). You can switch off power completely (including 5V, 3.3V GPIO) by grounding this input. Once released PMIC chip start power up sequence, which results in OS boot.
So, GLOBAL_EN is 'hard reset'. OS should boot on releasing it from GND.
Connect the downward pulsing output on the Watchdog to the GLOBAL_EN line and it will reset the pi when it goes low.
