I take it this is the forum for the Grove Digital Extender Board (did not see anything with a closer match). How do I go about reading something like Grove - Temperature&Humidity Sensor behind the extender board? I can read/write to the digital ports directly just fine, bu tI would like to use the grovepi lib to access sensor. Is that possible? Or do I really need to write my own code to read the sensor?

GrovePi library? I don't know what that is.
Tough to get the timing right on an Extender board, but it is possible. You would need to write your own software for it.

We don't know anything about the GrovePi, except that it has a processor in the middle of things which requires special drivers to make things work. Our product, the Pi2Grover, is a straight through device which works with out special drivers.
