The plan:
1) Build "normal" SkyWeather station and get it running 2) Build the forecast display based on the National Weather service API and the touch screen 3) Combine the two so I can get the readouts from the weather station real time on the little screen and use that interface to switch back and forth from different screens and data.
Eventually I want to add some soil sensors as well, which will probably be part of my expansion and learning about IOT and LoRa devices.
I'm starting with decades of experience in Windows (and DOS) computers, but almost zero in Python or Linux. I've already discovered that a lot of the support code that's around is written in python2.7, which was depreciated at the beginning of 2020!
I've got the SkyWeather station wired up and in testing. skyweather.weatherstem.com/alleyg Doesn't appear to be updating but the admin user screen shows data, so I'm not sure whats up with that.
stay tuned!
