Ouch! Something has gone wrong in your maria installation. Can you reinstall it? And then run a test to make sure it is running?

Let us see the complete error message (It is cut out - The ERROR lines). No sure how to get that part of the errors. Ran it again and it is all cut off. Is there away to export it into a text file? Nevermind, see the attached file. mysql.txt (2.03 KB)

"journalctl -xe" should provide you the entire log. See Just performed an upgrade to the system and received this error: Setting up mariadb-server-10.3 (1:10.3.23-0+deb10u1) ... Job for mariadb.service failed because the control process exited with error code. See "systemctl status mariadb.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details. Attachments:journalctl (169.58 KB)

Too late. The logs have been rotated. You have to reboot the weatherstation, and when you see the error, then you call the logs. Sorry

journalctl.txt (130.02 KB) Not sure it this helps either. Everything seems to start on boot.

Got the following:
-- The job identifier is 473. Aug 14 02:27:47 raspberrypi systemd[1]: mariadb.service: Main process exited, code=exited, status=2/INVALIDARGUMENT -- Subject: Unit process exited -- Defined-By: systemd -- Support: https://www.debian.org/support -- -- An ExecStart= process belonging to unit mariadb.service has exited. -- -- The process' exit code is 'exited' and its exit status is 2. Aug 14 02:27:47 raspberrypi systemd[1]: mariadb.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'. -- Subject: Unit failed -- Defined-By: systemd -- Support: https://www.debian.org/support -- -- The unit mariadb.service has entered the 'failed' state with result 'exit-code'. Aug 14 02:27:47 raspberrypi systemd[1]: Failed to start MariaDB 10.3.23 database server. -- Subject: A start job for unit mariadb.service has failed -- Defined-By: systemd -- Support: https://www.debian.org/support -- -- A start job for unit mariadb.service has finished with a failure.
You will have to check the mysql/mariadb log file itself for more details on the error. usually in /var/log/mysql|mariadb

The folder /var/log/mysql/ is empty. Nothing that says mariadb.
This is probably due to the fact that the program isn't starting?

Usually mysqld/mariadb will write at least what the error is, unless that startup script is the one causing the error and causing an exit before executing the binaries.
I'd give it a look myself if I had a ssh access to it (temporarily). Can also provide you a public key in case the PI is on the public network somewhere (you can remove it to revoque the access once done).

Ok, I uninstalled all of the mariadb and dependencies using Synaptic, deleted all of the DB's. Then I installed mariadb-server-10.3, instead of mariadb-server. This installed everything back on and it loads and starts.
Now I can't get into phpmyadmin. I uninstalled it and re-installed. I've tried admin, blank; admin, password; root, blank; root, password; and then both of these again with a password that I thought I used when installing, but not.
Is there any way to reset the password for phpmyadmin from the cli?

Actually - did you run the "sudo mysql_secure_installation" command? This removes all junk (test Db etc.) and forces you to actually set a password for root access. Make sure you also after that, create a table and a user for SkyWeather. Don't remember if the skyweather script does it. Too long ago.
