Okay after a bit of messing around I'm going to pass on Weather Underground. No interest in using weewx. I was successful in cleaning up my Node-RED workflow. Main flow and seven subflows. View AttachmentJason I have a station on Weewx, I am not a fan I know a lot of people like weewx and have customized it to death. Where are you pulling your barometer data from? I have a WR2 combined with a BMP180 chip

The BMP280 sensor on the SkyWeather2 board.
Thanks,

I'm a huge fan of Vue.js and Vuetify.js, in particular. Vuetify.js is a Material Design compliant Vue.js library for building reactive web applications. I've had this itch to build a real-time weather dashboard in Vue and Vuetify for some time and have finally started to build. The plan is to continue to leverage Node-RED to process data from my SkyWeather2. In addition to the work being performed now, Node-RED will also send data to www.pusher.com. Pusher will take the data and push it to my Vue.js real-time dashboard and refresh data on the page as it is received. The subflow in Node-RED looks like this: Here is the Vue.js dashboard where you can see the calculated barometric trend received from pusher and Node-RED and the resulting friendly string representation of the value. Ignore the ripped off boilerplate I stole lol :-) Jason

I love all the ideas being implemented on this thread. I'd be very interested in the tutorial by Jason. I will look at the Garden tutorial this weekend. My pi is hosed up with a hardware error. I've got a new one arriving today. I'm just starting down the python path of learning. All the other stuff y'all are discussing I'll have to read up on. The beautiful outputs y'all are showing are really exciting though. Alluding to control of house lights, windows and so on whets my appetite to make integrating the SDL equipment with such into a long term project. I really appreciate the work all of y'all have done.
Just a quick note: to see if errors were actually a firmware bug, I was able to successfully update the pi's firmware with rpi-update. The pi is running kernel 5.10.17-v7l+ and the SDL stuff runs just fine. I doubt any of that is needed now, but it did work. I really just want stability so I can focus on the stuff y'all are doing, so I'm not troubleshooting this pi anymore. Dow

Greetings all! After a little delay due to distractions I am ready to fire up the Hops Farm using my SmartGarden extender to allow me to turn on relays/solenoids to water my yard, per www.switchdoc.com/2020/09/hops-farm-smart-garden-system/ which I built last summer. This year I want to do it all using node-red. 1. Any reason to use Grafana? 2. I assume I can operate the relays from node-red? This will be this week's project. 3. I think using Blynk will be too ambitious.

Grafana does a better job of allowing you to see historical data compared to Node-RED afaik. That’s the biggest advantage that I’ve found.
Node-RED can definitely accommodate the two-way communication and I’m guessing you’ve prolly already researched nodes to do so.

Greetings all, I never posted my node-red dashboard. Here it is. Works like a charm.

Something very interesting happened today. The purple boxes suddenly appeared. I didn't change anything!

Jason, Just wondering if you posted a tutorial yet? No pressure, just very curious to see how to make it work. Dow

Good morning dow4hurst! Here are two resources that I created that you might find helpful. MQTT enabling WeatherRack2
SkyWeather2 and NodeRED
I've not written anything specifically on Grafana though specifically because my Grafana setup is running on an RPi4 cluster I have running in my office. The cluster setup tutorial I used can be found here. Also, I've put aside Grafana mainly because other projects have distracted me. :-) Thanks, Jason

Oh and feel free to ask questions. I like learning and questions present that opportunity especially if I'm doing something odd or inefficient lol
Thanks,
Jason
