Hello
I have checked and rechecked my wiring (especially Powersave #1) on my SkyWeather project and cannot find a fault.
pi@raspberrypi:~/SDL_Pi_SkyWeather $ sudo python testAS3935.py
AS3935 NOT detected at I2C port 0x02 on base Bus
I have run the other tests and they all give output similar to the document.
Could it be that the board is faulty or is there something else I can check?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jason,
If you bypass the Power Save (which is on the AS3935? that doesn't make sense) do you detect the AS3935?
If you disconnect all of the other devices (learning the AS3935) do you detect the AS3935? It is possible it is bad, but the AS3935 does not like I2C bus loading and that is why we are asking these questions.

Hello BP
Sorry to be a Newbe but I don't know how to bypass the PowerSave. I did notice a few minutes ago that on power on, that a LED light on the AS3935 illuminates during boot but then turns off at some point. I will try disconnecting all of the cable but the ones for the AS3935 and reboot and report back. The SD card is of my own build by the way.

That does tell us a lot! That white light is the Interrupt light from the AS3935. It comes on during power up. It goes off when SkyWeather2 reads the Interrupt (clearing it and making the LED turn off).
You are talking to the AS3935.
How do you have the Grove Power Save wired up? From and To.

I realize you were likely just asking for PowerSave #1 but I checked them both again and listed them.
Grove Powersave #1
Out Port is connected to the AM2315 Part D Control Port is connected to the P12Grover Part A on Port D6/D12 In Port is connected to the 6 Port I2C Hub Part T
Grove Powersave #2
Out Port is connected to the Air Quality Dust Sensor Part X Control Port is connected to the P12Grover Part A on Port D26 In Port is connected to the P12Grover Part A on Port D19/D20

Great! That is correct. This has nothing to do with your AS3935 problem. Pull all the I2C devices (except the AS3935) off of the Pi2Grover and re-run the AS3935 test program/

Thanks for the response
All I have plugged into the the PI2Grover Board now is the AS 3935 ThunderBoard Lighning Detector as indicated here:
PI2Grover Board port D16/D19 to the Grove Digital (Grove Int) PI2Grover Board port I2C to the Grove I2C
The LED on the AS 3935 is illuminated but the Test shows a problem.
pi@raspberrypi:~ $ cd SDL_Pi_SkyWeather/ pi@raspberrypi:~/SDL_Pi_SkyWeather $ sudo python testAS3935.py >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<< TCA9545 I2C Mux Not Present >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>><<<<<<<<<<< AS3935 NOT detected at I2C port 0x02 on base Bus pi@raspberrypi:~/SDL_Pi_SkyWeather $

Post a picture of your hookup. I'm stymied now. It was working above and now doesn't work.
The key to this is when you had it hooked up originally the white light came on and then went out when SkyWeather reads it.

Looks correct.
When you run the test software does the white light on the Pi2Grover flash?
I'm starting to think a bad ThunderBoard, but it looked like it was working in SkyWeather.

Hello BP No the LED on the AS3935 Thunderboard does not flash when I run the command "sudo python testAS3935.py". Jason

Oh Gotcha ... yes the White LED beside the Blue LED flickers very quickly when I run the command "sudo python testAS3935.py". Jason

Here's my thoughts. Please verify that I heard:
1) When you run SkyWeather, it picks up the AS3935
2) When you run testAS3935.py it does not.
