pid_file /var/run/mosquitto/mosquitto.pid
The current version of mosquitto has
pid_file /run/mosquitto/mosquitto.pid
on the same line.
If you select N to retain the old file you need to make the change or Mosquitto fails. You probably want to keep the old one and make the change or you will lose the customizations referenced in the article and have to redo them.
