I just got around to working with my early bird weathersense Ardiono Uno board. It appears that the UNO shipped is a "knock off" UNO and will not speak to your Windows PC until you install the proper USB Drivers. The Arduino drivers will not suffice! You can get the driver information here: electropeak.com/learn/how-to-install-ch340-driver. It needs the CH340 driver to work. I hope this saves you some time. I really wish SDL would have helped out a little here to save us some time.

Danv,
Good point. We had no problem with our machines in talking to the Arduino UNO board, but boy, there are so many versions of windows out there (due to the update process) and we aren't surprised there was a problem with some of them. We even had problems with the latest Mac update, but that was with everybodies USB connection and not just the UNO board (ESP32, esp8266, pico, Mega, etc.)
Thanks for publishing this help.
