Hey!
First off Thanks to Sopwith for his install guide! One small hiccup (needed to start with a fresh SD card lol) and it was a breeze!
so my first question is, i have the OG skyweather setup....i noticed on the dash page the lightning and air quality sensor options are blanked out grey....is there a way to use that skyweather 1 AQ sensor and lightning sensor with the Skyweather 2??
Second i notice the setup only sends information every 15 minutes, i would like to speed that up to alot more often (preferably once a minute?) is this possible? I just prefer really granular information lol. my Skyweather 1 hasnt worked in a while but if i remember it was sending info alot more often.
Thanks!!

Hi Enekuda, The SkyWeather1 AQ system has been replaced by a much better laser based AQ device. The software is open sourced, so you could certainly put the old one into the new SkyWeather2 software (it's Python3 now, but that shouldn't be a huge problem). Same thing with the 15 minute storing to DB. The WeatherRack2 reports about every 45 seconds or so and the Indoor T/H reports about once a minute. You can put a lot more data in the database if you like, for sure. The architecture for the Lightning Sensor is much different in SkyWeather2 than in SkyWeather1. We moved the detector a long ways away from the Pi (RFI) by use of a 433MHz wireless Solar Powered link as in here: shop.switchdoc.com/products/lightning-detector-solar-powered-433mhz-wireless-sensor-weathersenseThis architecture gives much better results as it is moved away from all the RFI noise sources (such as the Pi and WiFi). Interestingly, when we transmit from the solar thunderbird on 433MHz, we shut off reading the ThunderBoard so we don't cause our own lightning detections! BP
