I'm trying to get my SkyWeather2 working. I'm using the SD card. I'm following the December 2020 version of the guide. There are several problems.

Step 6 (page 20):

cd /home/pi/SDL_Pi_SkyWeather2

sudo python3 testWeatherSensors.py

There is no file by that name in the SDL_Pi_SkyWeather2. There is a file named testWirelessSensors.py. That's the closest to the name testWeatherSensors.py.

I assumed I was supposed to run testWeatherSensors.py given that was the closest. I ran it. Repeatedly. It stops running. The last, most important thing this means to me is where it says: Protocol number specified (148) is larger than number of protocols

Yes, I did carefully follow the steps 1-6.

After that it just stalls. Come back 24 hours later and it's stuck there.

I'd like to finally get this working. It''s quite frustrating.

Did you install the merbanan/rtl_433 driver(incorrect)? Or the switchdoclabs/rtl_433 driver(correct)? Thanks, Jason

I used the SD Card that I purchased from SDLabs. I followed the exact procedure described in the manual and updated the software as described here: forum.switchdoc.com/thread/1452/skyweather2-software-releases I would have thought the combination of using the SD Card and the described update method would have fixed it. No?

I did try this before posting here hoping it would install the correct whatever:
Remember to go to your rtl_433 directory and do the following to update rtl_433:

cd rtl_433/
mkdir build
cd build
cmake ..
make clean
make
sudo make install

AS I say, I had previously tried doing all this the long method (find all my own drivers) but after my own SD Card died, I thought I'd use the SDLabs card.

Thanks for any thoughts you have. If for some reason (I can't imagine why)the SD Card I bought from SwithDoc doesn't provide the correct drivers, I'll go ahead and install the correct one.

I’m still thinking you have the wrong version of the driver. It might be possible that the SD card you purchased does not include the most recent version of the switchdoclabs/rtl_433 on Github. Have you tried to do a git pull in the rtl_433 directory?

This was the command I issued before doing anything else:

pi@SwitchDocLabs:~/SDL_Pi_SkyWeather2 $ git pull

Is that what you are referencing?

Update: Actually I was NOT in the rtl_433 directory at the time I did the git pull. Do I need to be in that directory? I figured the git pull in the SDL_Pi_SkyWeather2 directory would pull in everything in all the other underlying directories. Is that not the case?

I just went into the appropriate directories (rtl_433 & rtl-sdr). No joy with both rtl_033 and rtl-sdr).

There was an additional section in the error messages that I didn't note earlier. Largely because it simply froze at:

WeatherSense Indoor T/H F016TH Found
When, after waiting well over an hour, I hit Ctrl-C, I got the following error notification:
