Q: What is "Aux State" in the AQI & Aftershock graph?

The AUX signal is a status from the Mini Pro Plus board. It consists of 3 bits of data Bit 00 = 1 IN3221 (Solar) present, 0 = not present Bit 01 = 1 Sensor is present, 0 = not present Sensor count be AQI, Lightning, Aftershock Bit 02 = 1 Low battery < 2.9V sensor shut off, 0 = battery V OK So these bits are powers of 2 (1,2,4) so when added together you get the value of AUX A 3 means solar is present + sensor is present + battery is > 2.9V You can find these bit definitions in the source for the Mini Pro Plus.
Below is the section from the AQI MiniPro Plus
// AuxA has state information // coded in bottom four bits of the byte // 0CAB
// A = 1, IN3221 (Solar) Present, 0 not present // B = 1, HM3301 Present, 0 not present // C = 1, Voltage below 2.9, HM3301 not turned on

Nice! Thank you for such a detailed explanation doxidad.

Does a value of 6 for AuxA indicate that solar is NOT present, sensor is present and the battery is low? If so, what does solar NOT present indicate?
Thanks,
Jason

The bits are CAB so 6 would be 110 (4+2+0) bits are powers of 2
C - 1 Voltage below 2.9V A - 1 Solar Present B - 0 HM3301 not present
So - solar is there, but battery low and because it is low, the HM3301 is shut off
I run into the same problem since it is winter and there a very few sunny days. I get about 2-3 weeks and then have to pull the box (lighting detector) and charge the batteries. Runs fine the other 3 seasons. I also have 2 solar cells on the unit which have helped somewhat. My area is known for having very few sunny days all year round since I am about 30 miles south of Lake Erie. Another 20 miles south the weather is totally different.

Ah thank you! Didn’t realize I had switched two of the bits which makes sense!
Thanks,
Jason
