Yes, that panel will work! 100W should be all you need.

It will need to be removed. SolarMAX2 provides MUCH more power.

Does it matter the length of the wires from the solar panel to the solarMax2 box?
Maximum length I guess is what I'm looking for.

We have tested to 20 meters. Should work well beyond that with good cables.

One last question. In regards to the battery, what do you do in the winter with it? Do you need to place a heater around it?
I've purchased the following: FEATURES

Unless you have a really, really cold winter, it should keep itself warm. You could add a heater (peltler junction?) and shut it off in low sun conditions (it will take a lot of power) which isn't optimal, obviously.

My winters are basically the same as yours. 3 hours north of Spokane.

Insulation is also a method for controlling temperature in the winter too!

For SolarMax2, and connected to the SkyWeather1, do I follow the software instructions as in the SolarMAX2 Assembly and Testing Guide?

Yes, but SkyWeather1 does not have the 433MHz built into the software. You can use the WeatherSense software to do the logging, however.

Everything is connected and the switches on the boards were moved to the ON position. I don't see any LED's on the boards. Are there any?
