I am updating to hydroponics from just a watering system with bluetooth sensor. My temperature DS18B20 probe is wired in correctly and receives power but indicates '-1 ' on the lcd and mqqt outputs. Whilst unpowered I have checked continuity of the sensor all the way through to the grove soldered pins on the extender board (via a 50cm grove cable plugged into serial grove on wiring hub). I have tested the sensor with a pi pico and I can read temperatures. Also checked that the 4.7k pull up resistor is in place on the wiring hub. Any help appreciated on further diagnosing this issue. P.S> I have also changed the sensor but had the same result.
Further to my original posting I removed the battery from the bluetooth sensor and put the temperature probe into some warm water. Received the following message on SG3.py terminal reading temp as 52.88 deg C. but recorded on dash graph as -1 and also -1 in sql database. Before I moved it into warm water it read around 20 deg C on the same terminal message. So seems it is reading temp probe but not able to record it
I had previously copied the SD card to one with same manufacturer and quality to allow my master to be saved. The error seemed to be only on the SD copy. It worked perfectly with the master SD purchased from yourselves. Once I had reformatted the copy again and copied master using Pi clone again it worked this time. So no more errors on the DS18820 Temp sensor! In fact it is all working now with only PH sensor to add. Took me a while to find out how go and update the IR pic as it is stuck on another extender ID because this is specified in the dash hydroponics page, suggestion would be to add this to the software part of the hydroponics assembly and test manual
