All,
I don't wish to ruffle any feathers here.
All research I've done has concluded with no android support on the road map for raspiconnect.
I want to confirm that is correct.
I intend to write something I can use on my android. Also, is anyone already working on that or knows od an open source app which would be a good starting point?
I considered purchasing an old ipad, but I just don't want to go down that path.
Thoughts/ideas?

Hi Mike,
No feather ruffling here. SDL just bought RasPiConnect from MiloCreek. We talked with Jeff and he told us that they looked at supporting Android but decided not too after looking at the issues of "write once, test everywhere" caused by the variations in Android operating system and devices. So, while we may do some more research, not too much has changed in the past year with regards to the supportability of multiple Android devices.

No problem, I do understand trying to support something on many different devices. aka support nightmare. That said, I and I'm sure others out there are left with nothing as we don't have apple IOS devices. I will start experimenting with some ideas, and who knows it might work on both Thank You,

Yes, we understand. Our issues are with testing and support for multiple platforms and versions. And the inability for the telecom providers to push out updates in any kind of a timely fashion.
It's just not worth it for a niche product like this. iOS and Apple (for of all their faults), represent a more cohesive and consistent development and test environment.

Just in case I come across an iPad at a price that I can justify to be dedicated to my weather station, what is the minimum model and ios version? Thank you,

Hmm. Anything that runs iOS7+ I would guess.
