I think alot of the confusion I've seen sere stems from the fact that the BC24 that was shipped was shipped with firmware version 005, and all of the documentation mentions 006 and 007.
As received (without repgramming - just powering up the BC24), I've not been able to get my BC24 to advertise as an AP or otherwise connect.
This is what shows on the serial log when I boot up. I tried using the Espressif Esptouch tool and when the tool is running I see the assertion failure shown below:

I'm unable to use the SmartConfig mentioned in the docs as beling "the one used at SwitchDoc Labs" itunes.apple.com/us/app/smartconfig/id1233975749?mt=8 since it's only available in the US App Store, and I'm in Canada.
