I am still looking for a suitable battery for my solar powered version. Does it need to be LiPo or is Lion also good. I am not exactly sure about the difference.
I found some LiPo RC batteries on ebay and adafruit itself has a Lion available at www.adafruit.com/product/353, which is a Lithium Ion Battery Pack - 3.7V 6600mAh...
Please advice.

That looks good. We only use LiPo batteries.
Make sure you wire it right. Reversing the power cable will fry everything!

That looks good. We only use LiPo batteries. I assume you were referring to the RC one on ebay, given you only use LiPo.
Make sure you wire it right. Reversing the power cable will fry everything! I *again* assume you mean polarity? Plus to plus, minus to minus? Or is there more to be aware of with LiPo?

Yes, the RC one.
Yes, plus to plus and minus to minus.

Well, we all know Murphy I guess... With good spirit I started adding the Solar Power part! All went well, until I had to connect my nice new LiPo battery... It has a different connector... See picture...
Left is the battery connector, right is the solar panel connector. Since the three panels need to be soldered together anyway, can I jst sacrifice one of the panels wires to fit the battery?

Sure. Just make sure you connect it plus to plus and ground to ground.
