Hi Buckwester,
I'd especially like to see SunControl in the same situation. That would help me understand what is going on.
Looks like your battery is pretty well charged up. Nothing coming from solar of course. Note: You are drawing current through the Load and it is only slightly charging the battery. SunAIrPlus and SunControl have different controller chips so they will behave differently. I would *guess* this has something to do with your power supply and SunAIrPlus is prioritizing supporting the load rather than charging. What happens when you disconnect the load?

Looks right on both counts.
SunAirPlus is not charging the battery at 4.11 V, but they are two different solar controller chips.
Take SunAirPlus and disconnect the load and show that. That will help me figure what is going on.

The Output Load is still connected on both of those postings.

it is? I pulled the AC and then copied the output

you can see the battery bus voltage goes to 0

shut it down and rebooted with just the battery:

I shut it down again, replaced the SunControl board with the SunAirPlus board and rebooted with just the battery:

It "looks" like it is working well.
What I need you to do is remove the Output Load (The Raspberry Pi), plug in the Raspberry Pi to a different power source and then re-run the tests with the usb power in plugged in and not plugged in.
Then I can see if there is a problem with the USB power in. I think that the controllers are just behaving differently, but this will show me what is going on.

OK, I am not sure what you want me to do, but let me take a shot at it:
1. plug SunAirPlus and SunControl into AC power 2. leave connections from Sun* board to GroverI2C 3. plug Pi into separate AC power
correct?

Buckwestern,
Perfect. Now repeat the same with SunControl. It looks like your SunAirPlus shuts down charging at 4.10V.

Repeated with SunControl as requested. Interesting that the same battery was used for this test and it appears to be charging. Was the SunAirPlus not charging it completely?
