Hello Everyone
I am not a complete novice but I am not an expert when working with the Raspberry Pi. I have modified the rc.local file to start the Thunderboard IOT program on startup, but it fails to startup on reboot. I am attaching a copy of the /etc/rc.local file so that everyone can see where I am going wrong.
#!/bin/sh -e
#
# rc.local
#
# This script is executed at the end of each multiuser runlevel.
# Make sure that the script will "exit 0" on success or any other
# value on error.
#
# In order to enable or disable this script just change the execution
# bits.
#
# By default this script does nothing.
# Print the IP address
_IP=$(hostname -I) || true
if [ "$_IP" ]; then
printf "My IP address is %s\n" "$_IP"
fi
cd /home/pi/SDL_Pi_ThunderBoard_IOT-master
sudo python ThunderBoardIOT.py & gt; /null
exit 0

You need to stick a nohup in front of it. As soon as your process exits, the python program will stop.
