Hi, I should also mention that my OLED display that came with the Smart Garden was defective. I changed the cable but no joy. Fortunately I had another one from one of your previous projects, and that one worked fine.
Ok, thanks for that, I went through all of that but still get the error. Frankly, there is so much gobbledygook in that readme file, and I simply can't get it going.
Honestly, I don't understand why your step by step instructions leave that part out. Shouldn't it either install this automatically or at least provide clearer instructions? It basically stops the program dead, if you can't figure it out.
So if I just comment this out to get it running, what do I lose? Is this about the vertical bar of LEDS that maybe shows the water level? I can probably live without that for now.
I just noticed that you provide an SD card with all the software on it, so I guess I will have to purchase that, but for now I will try a neopixel-less install.
Hi, ok, I ordered the SD card. Your regular instructions are quite flawless, so I was surprised when I ran into this. I could figure it out, but I have 50 years experience in the industry. I think it would stop a hobby user dead. Just sayin ...
I give up, I can't get the SGS software to believe that the neopixel is installed. I read the directions in the SDL_Pi_8PixelStrip directory. And here are my results:
sudo scons scons: Reading SConscript files ... scons: done reading SConscript files. scons: Building targets ... scons: `libws2811.a' is up to date. scons: `test' is up to date. scons: done building targets.
Pop back in the parent directory to "try" SGS and I get:
sudo python SGS.py Traceback (most recent call last): File "SGS.py", line 37, in <module> from neopixel import * ImportError: No module named neopixel
Anyone have any additional thoughts that are not listed in the README.md? Thanks in advance,
