So I have had my weather station up and running for a while now and I'd like to report back on some of the "failures"
The wind anemometer uses a reed switch as part of measuring wind speed, I have discovered a few problems,
Firstly trying to get a clean feed of signals without the bouncing effect of the reed switch, it's a huge issue.
Secondly there's a mechanical upper limit that the reed switch can operate so in some gale force wind scenarios, you just see the wind speed flat line.
I'd like to build my own circuit/anemometer with a hall effect sensor, and a 555 timer to provide me with a clean digital on/off signal.
However the who thing about building the weather station is to learn, and i find it sad that switch doc dont make the Grove WeatherPi circuit diagrams available, Im sure i could work it out... but that's not the point,
has anyone have an easy way to measure wind speed accurately? or how do i get the circuit diagram ?
