Wrote a small script to alert me via Pushover.net when it is raining. Posting here for others who may find it useful. I use the Pushover app on my phone to alert me about all sorts of stuff. It is easy to pass Pushover text and have it push an alert to your phone. First, if you don't already get and configure a Pushover account. Second, make sure that the WeatherStats.txt file is being updated by the following information in this post: forum.switchdoc.com/thread/1159/weatherstats-txt-stateThen paste this text into a file on you Pi and make it executable: I run the script via crontab every 5 minutes and when it rains I get a message like this on my phone:
