I am having great fun with the app, got it talking to my PI via a router and controlling my gertboard.
I go into secondary schools and give talks on computers, mathematics etc and would like to demonstrate the iPad talking to the PI. As I won't have access to the school wifi is there anyway I can connect the iPad and PI directly?

Hi Windy,
Glad to hear you are having fun! We have a lot of fun with it around here too.
I assume that you will have the Pi with you as well, so connecting to the cell data network won't work.
You can do this:
Take a wifi router along (making sure that you have it set to serve up DHCP IP addresses). Set it up so you are connected to the router and the Pi is too.
Don't plug in the router to a broadband connection.
Now you will have your own little private wifi network. Works like a champ. Did this last weekend for a talk to an iPhone users group at a resort.

Thanks for response I will look into buying one and will continue to have fun!
Got a suggestion for the documentation, realise it is probably the wrong thread, the documentation for the connect server has pictures of each control, voltmeter, speedometer, button etc, could you add the ID for each control , the only place I could find them defined was in the code examples. Also a statement as to when they are updated, on refresh, button press etc. I managed to sort everything out, but when you are a total beginner I think you could do with things spelling out for you!
Right, back to playing!
