Dear SwitchDoc Labs team,
I just received your full Raspberry Pi IOT Lightning Detector Kit and want to share my compliments for the design. It’s so easy to put it all together.
Having zero experience with the Raspberry, it was a bit of a stretch to get the software in place, but once somebody showed how to get started, the 4 tutorials do get one to the end and now I have the freeboard page up & running. Thanks for that!
Two things I would like to raise:
1 – Tutorial nr 4 says: ” If you want to subscribe to your own data from PubHub, open another terminal wind on the Pi, configure listen.py with the same keys above and start listen.py”. But doing so there no line in this file to put in the keys. However, in the top section of the file one can read “import conflocal as config”. It looks to me there’s no longer a need to configure the “listen.py” file. And the line in the tutorial should be erased, correct?
2 – When starting the freeboard webpage, it takes up to 2 minutes before actual readings are listed. It looks like the webpage is waiting for the next raspberry upload to PubNub. Same happens when manually refreshing the webpage. Would it be possible while waiting for that update to have the previous PubNub update displayed ?
Thanks for any help!
Peter

Peter,
We really appreciate your input.
Yes, we fixed #1 and will update the documentation
#2 - We might be able to do something on the webpage with the History option at Pubnub. We will check that out.
Best,
BP
