Looking at the code in GroveWeatherPi these files were used with RaspiPiConnect which I believe was an Apple program that talked to the GroveWeatherPi for data.
So these 2 function look like they are relics of code reuse.
BP - feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

In the code look for the functions writeSunAirPlusStats() and writeWeatherStats() this is where the files are written.
I don't see where these functions are called. These could be relics of older versions. Or maybe GroveWeatherPi which I think much of this code came from - very similar.

I think what you are looking for is in SDL_Pi_SkyWeather/state.
SunAirPlusStats.txt
WeatherStats.txt
They are txt files.

I don't know what causes this, but I have seen it before - it was a few SkyWeather.py revisions ago though.

I implemented the script but am not able to get it running. getting: sudo /etc/inti.d/skyweather start sudo: /etc/inti.d/skyweather: command not found checked permissions, I know it is something simple, I set permissions 666 on the file...I am a linux basic user Also, beside permissions (need 755) look at your path it should be /etc/init.d not /etc/inti.d

Peter,
Did you put
# WXLink and SolarMAX configuration SolarMAX_Present = False Dual_MAX_WXLink = False
in your conflocal.py ?

Peter, i believe you are missing something in your local config file. The latest config has references to WXlink that need to be included - these will stop the error. If I remember correctly there is a comment in the readme.

If you want email notification sent to you you need to set it up. It will let you know of startups, lightning strikes and more. Please be aware that the email python module (don't have the name handy but it has email in the its name) uses gmail.com. If you don't use gmail you will need to modify your mailserver's name in this module.
How about switchdoc putting this in the config file with the default of gmail.com. I forget every time I update and have to make the manual change.

phpmyadmin is a web based interface. You need to use a web browser.

I wrote something up about this and how to fix it in the GWP forum a few months ago. It had some thing to do with the value being used before the comparison to see what the trend is. Trends should also bemore than 1 sample. Since most of the code is the same or similar I'll see if I can find it again

I have cloned the obvious SDL directories from GIT but I expect I'm missing other steps. Look in the README.md file in the SDL_Pi_SkyWeather directory. It has a list of what else needs to be installed.

You need to install the python mysqlDB library. If I remember correctly do this =>
sudo pip install MySQL-python sudo pip install MySQL-python-connector

Did you run this script after you installed mysql? => sudo mysql_secure_installation
This sets up a bunch of security things and prompts you to enter the root password.
I have to comment that the fork of mysql (maria) installation made it hard for one to just install it and use it like you used to be able to do before the fork (like prompting for a root password when installing) - Not sure why they made it more difficult - I'm sure there is a reason and it may have to due with forking from the the Oracle (now owned) mysql.
If you are still having problems you may want to uninstall phpmyadmin and mysql. Reinstall mysql and run the above script to setup security and prompt for a root password and then reinstall phpmyadmin.
I just recently created a new system from scratch and it worked for me.
