I am testing the WxLink before I put the weather sensor high up on the house. So far everything is working great even through the walls of the house. My problem comes with the rain bucket. I don’t think I have any rain in the bedroom that the weather sensors are but for some reason the rain total reported is climbing a little every couple of days. There is no vibration so I guess it is noise on the rain bucket line.
After searching the forum I see it has been recommended to add pull up resistors and or caps. I am using the WxLink sensor board that is connected to the WxLink arduino LP mini. Where do I add the components? On the arduino board or the sensor board? I assume the arduino board but when I look at the specification I am not sure what pins to use. Any direction would help. Thanks

You would add the resistor and cap right on the WXLink Extender board on connector J1. Cap from Rain to Ground. Resistor from Rain to 5V. On the Arduino board.

I think I understand but I would like to confirm. The board I will add a resistor and a capacitor is the breakout board called Grove WxLinkWR in the WxLink specification. I assume this since I only see a J1 connector on it. I don't see a J1 connector on the Arduino Pro Mini.
I don't have a pinout for J1 connector on the WxLinkWR board so I measured the voltages. This is what I found: Pin 1 (square trace), Rain under - measured ~4.5V Pin 2 (round trace), measured 5.0V --> assumed to be VCC Pin 3 (round trace), measured ~0 V --> assumed to rain input? Pin 4 )round trace), labeled GND
Is 3 the pin that senses the rain gauge? If so I would: a. Solder 0.1 microF cap between pin 3 and pin 4. b. Solder 10Kohm resistor between pin 3 and pin 2.
Is this right? Thanks

Sorry, I meant JP1 on the WXLinkWR board. JP1 on the WxLinkWR board is as follows: Square Trace Pin 1 - Wind Vane Pin 2 - Rain Bucket - Pullup to VDD Pin 3 - Anemometer - Pullup to VDD Pin 4 - GND

Thanks for your reply and it helps to understand the pin out on the WXLinkWR board.
So I would put a capacitor on the WXLinkWR board from pin 2(Rain Bucket - Pullup to VDD) to pin 4 (GND). Where do I add the resistor from Rain to VCC? Is there a VCC connection on the WXLinkWR board?

VCC can be found on the Grove Connectors. Looking at the front of the Grove connector, Pin 3 (from the left) is VDD and Pin 4 is Ground.
You may have to solder a wire to the bottom of the Grove connector.

Ok thanks. Will do

So I installed a resister and capacitor as suggested. Rain total is not increasing so it looks like the noise was fixed. Thanks for the help
