I have been using the Pi2Grover and the i2c Activity LED lights up intermittently and I cannot see any i2c ports in use when i use i2cdetect on my pi. I have tried different Pi2Grover boards, I have tried different cables, and I have tried different Light sensors. I am using this wiki.seeedstudio.com/Grove-Light_Sensor/ Light Sensor. If I wiggle the cable a bit sometimes the i2c activity LED flashes but even then I can't see it with i2cdetect.

What happens when you type:
sudo i2cdetect -y 1
post the results.

I took a closer look at your software and you are running stuff for the wrong board! No software needed for the Pi2Grover board. You are running software for grovePi, which is another whole can of worms that requires a bunch of drivers. Not made by us.

Okay! Is there a reason why i2cdetect -y 1 is not showing anything? I cannot read from the sensor still.

This doesn't look right. Reinstall your i2c bus.

Does this device need a Digital to Analog Converter?

Mollly,
Pi2Grover has no devices on the board. It is just and interface board from the Pi to the Grove connectors.
