Can't figure out what I am doing wrong here. I used the prebuilt SD card image and hooked everything up. All other tests run just fine. But this one doesn't. Here's what happens: pi@WeatherStation:~/SDL_Pi_SkyWeather2 $ sudo python3 testWirelessSensors.py Starting Wireless Read rtl_433 version -128-NOTFOUND branch master at 202010011416 inputs file rtl_tcp RTL-SDR Use -h for usage help and see triq.org/ for documentation. Trying conf file at "rtl_433.conf"... Trying conf file at "/root/.config/rtl_433/rtl_433.conf"... Trying conf file at "/usr/local/etc/rtl_433/rtl_433.conf"... Trying conf file at "/etc/rtl_433/rtl_433.conf"... quiet option (-q) is default and deprecated. See -v to increase verbosity Consider using "-M newmodel" to transition to new model keys. This will become the default someday. A table of changes and discussion is at github.com/merbanan/rtl_433/pull/986. Registered 2 out of 147 device decoding protocols [ 146-147 ] usb_claim_interface error -6

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this error before. If memory serves me correctly, it occurs when two separate processes are trying to access the radio at the same time. The easiest way to figure out if that is the case would be to reboot the Pi and run the following command: ps aux | grep ‘rtl_433’ If the output looks similar to the screenshot, your radio has already been claimed by a running process. Jason is right. That's almost for sure what is going on.

If you are going to run any of the test programs make sure you don't have SkyWeather2.py or WeatherSense.py executing. Either one of those will connect to the radio and claim it. If you do have one of them running, stop it before running the test program.

Doxidad is correct (as usual) That is the most common error.
I have, in rare conditions, had to reboot the Pi to clear the USB usage of the SDR.
