I've been thinking a lot about how to permanently mount the WeatherRack2 sensor package. Since it will need to be accessed for battery changes at least every couple of years I didn't want it too high up in a place that would be dangerous. I found out with some searching that there are telescoping flag poles that are between 20' and 40' available. They vary between cheap and expensive versions based on quality of materials and sturdiness. But, I did really like the idea of not needing a ladder, or to get on a roof, to access the WeatherRack2. I have a 1/4 acre lot in a neighborhood, so I don't have space to place the WeatherRack2 far away from my house or my neighbors. I need to get above my roof line too or I don't get correct wind direction or speed. I think these are pretty cool mount options. Plus, if you get tired of weather data you can always fly a flag. The expensive option that can handle 100 mph winds and lasts a long time: tele-pole.comThe more practical price point where you might have to replace the plastic parts after a few years: www.walmart.com/ip/YesHom-20ft-25ft-30ft-Telescopic-Aluminum-Flag-Pole-Free-3-x5-US-Flag-Ball-Top-Kit-16-Gauge-Telescoping-Flagpole-Fly-2-Flags/469521038I haven't bought anything yet. I still have the WeatherRack2 attached to a rusty old bird feeder post on my deck. It is completely blocked from northwesterly winds by the house, so will get moved eventually. Dow
