Hi - trying to do more with SkyWeather over Thanksgiving weekend and seeing lots of "flakiness" (some of which is documented in other threads).
The latest is that I'm seeing messages like this in syslog:
[87989.461429] usb 1-1.1-port2: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?
and eventually "Device not found" on the 12 minute restarts of RTL_433 (in the last 24 hours, 4 syslog errors and 3 successful restarts. After the 4th failure, I got the "Device not found" and a reboot SEEMS to have solved the problem.
I have another cable on order, and a radio that I've been using for a year or so as a testbed; so I can replace one or both - the box is a bit of a pain to get to and open up; so, I'd rather only work it once.
Suggestions appreciated - I'd like to solve THIS problem before I move on the looking at MQTT.
Thanks! Clay Jackson

Clay,
This is pretty interesting. You might change the 5 day re boot to boot every day. A customer down in california had a similar problem and fixed it by doing that.

Thanks! I gonna rethink my whole setup a bit, and will probably wind up bringing the Pi inside.
I suspect that will solve a number of problems, including overtemp alarms. I need to get the Wireless SkyCam up and working, and also check on some possible RF issues
Here's a somewhat "off the wall" question - do you know how the antenna in the AIO unit is mounted? I'm wondering if it's horizontal or vertical polarization? I've got a cobbled together dipole (tuned to 433 MhZ) that I'm going to replace with a mount that's 3D printed and uses threaded rods as the elements - wondering if I should orient it vertically or horizontally.
I just ordered and Argon SSD adaptor and case, I have a couple of SSD drives that I'm gonna use on a Pi4 and move all to that - will send pics when it's up and running. Then I won't have to mess with a Pi running outside (although I have a Pi running wspr (Weak Signal Propagation) on a box sitting at the top of a pole that's been running for a couple of years).

No idea about the AIO antenna. If you take it apart and look, post the pictures.
SSD rules!
