I want to position my skyweather2 system further away from my property but I have found with the supplied SDR dongle that it doesnt have the range. I am looking for alternative solutions. I am using lorawan for other systems and wondered whether I could use a 433mhz gateway to replace the SDR dongle.
This would mean the skyweather2 communicated over 433mhz to the gateway and them the gateway communicates to the Pi.
Is there any option with the skyweather pi software for this type of config or is it tied into having a hardware dongle inserted into the PI?
cheers Maurice

I think the better solution would be to buy a bigger antenna and put it on SkyWeather2.

There are plenty of highly directional 433MHz Yagi antenna out there, some of them quite inexpensive. You might need to throw in an antenna connector adapter, maybe $15 to $20.
