The micro-USB connector has come away. Which pins on the board can i use for VCC and GND? I want to attach this external USB connector incase the solar charge is insufficient and the unit needs to charge.

Before i power it on, can you confirm that the micro USB B pins i should be using in the left hand image are GND on the left and Vcc on the right. The left of the 5 tabs shows a short to the 4 outer ground tabs and read 4.3v to the right tab.

Thanks for your help - though its unclear to me which pins i should be connecting the power from the external USB to. Of the micro-USB 5 solder tabs in your image, my assumption is that the top is Vcc and the bottom is GND. - as per the image below which is rotated 90 degrees (white=GND, red=5v)

Steve, I'm sorry. I didn't realize that I had put such a poor resolution picture up there. Here it is again. It look wired right to me. Make sure you aren't shorting anything. BP Attachments:
