It seems I am having unexpected and unexplained restart or reboot at random times. Has anyone seen something like this? My problem is that I loose the actual rain amount with reboot.

Tell me how you have your system hooked up and what you are using for a power supply. I'm thinking that you have a noisy power line and maybe you need to use a better power supply for the board.

Had a reboot about 1130 today, after changing to a 5V, 2.0A (Samsung) power supply about 0630 this morning. I plan to get a surge suppressor power strip to see if that might help.

David,
Is it rebooting or is it just locking?

It is rebooting. Since my last post I have tried putting a surge suppressor strip on the outlet and when that did not help, I changed to a UPS. Still reboot. I know it is rebooting by checking the "lastBoot" on serial output. Thanks for your help.

Now that is a new one on us. We have seen it lock, but not reboot. Any chance that you could capture the serial output from the device from when it crashes and reboots? That would tell us what is going on in all likelihood.

David,
Very, very useful. Since it bombed during Blynk, disable the Blynk (change the key code to blank) and let's see if that still reboots.
Again, please record the text.
It might be about your current understanding, but you are clearly learning about it!

Thanks for helping. If I set Blynk code to blank, nothing the admin page returns "www,switchdoc.com Incorrect Password. Blynk Authorization Key not changed' If I enter random number (11) it reports back a successful change. And in the log when it tries to connect to Blynk it fails with a "Invalid auth token" message.

Good point. That is a bug in the PHP software. You did get the result with 11 I wanted.
Now we wait!

OK, I thought about doing a total reset, but held off on that so far.

So far good. Been more than 2 days without a reboot.

Sounds like there is some problem with the Blink app code on your system. Try putting it back in again and see if that is doing it. I wonder if you have a stable WiFi connection to the unit?
